Latest News from the Gauteng Model Boat Club
Visit to Centurion
As a club we have the opportunity to visit other clubs and Sunday was one of those great occasions for our members.
The Society of Model Engineers, or as we tend to affectionately call them, the Centurion club, hosted another display at their fantastic faclities and club grounds.
We were pampered and spoilt with boerie rolls and a great time was had by all that attended.
There were some fantastic boats on display as well as a good few on the water. The sailors made hay while the sun shone and the wind blew. They really enjoyed the advantage of the club's upper lookout viewpoint that makes it much easier to judge distance and get the boats safely around the marks on the other side of the lake.
The scale boats had fun too, weaving amongst the bouys and bouncing off the tanker and sailboats.
Well done to our friends in Centurion for a fantastic day of boating and chatting - it was really good. It has been decided that this needs to happen on a regular basis so watch this space.
Well done to the guys from GMBC for making the effort to trek out to Centurion, but one can only say that it was well worth it.
Until the next one, which we hope to host, see you all at the next club meeting
