Work Party Gets to the Root of the Problem
The Council has been draining the Dam in order to do maintenance on the wall and the water level is down by about 1.5m at present resulting in a dry beach in front of our harbour and foreshore wall.
The sailing fraternity made good use of the opportunity to walk on dry land and got to grips with the ball of roots on the foreshore and despite the heat they managed to completely remove the obstruction.
Other members removed reeds along the shore, while others unpacked the boat locker and got rid of a lot of junk inside it.
By day's end there was very good evidence of all the effort put in by the dedicated members. Well done, and thanks to all of those who came and participated.
