Three-way Interclub Regatta
22 January 2017
25 boats took to the water on a hot and sunny day with conditions varying between a light breeze and not a breath.
The fleet was mostly composed of SeaWinds and IOMs, with some other boats also represented. The SeaWinds had their own start a minute ahead of the main fleet. The course was quite large by our normal standards and neccesitated moving between two main areas along the bank in order to maintain sight of your boat.
Although the meeting was informal, it was cometently run with audio start signals and someone to keep the scores. Competition was fierce and although some of the IOMs were very quick, the SeaWinds still managed to score some overall wins and were always in the top five.
Halfway through the racing, we had a break for some very welcome boerie rolls - thanks to all who supplied and prepared them. The Centurion venue is shared with the model train contingent who have a small restaurant and toilet facilities and we could park our cars inside the venue.
The next meeting will be held at Wemmer Pan at a date to be finalised.
